Last year, the number of graduates has increased more than four times as compared to 2004. Many of them are unemployed and many could not get their desired career. Higher education is not guaranteeing a job. Due to this, the passion of studying and making a career is ending among the youth. Bang Nehan, a 20-year-old Chinese student of economics who made videos by becoming a chowdiya, says that this trend among the Chinese youth is the result of their desire for freedom. Jiang Biao, an expert on Chinese society, politics and economics and director of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Germany, says that today’s young generation in China has been told since childhood that if they study hard and work hard, they will get a golden future, but when they grew up, this dream was shattered. Life was full of uncertainty. This has made them so stressed that they are unable to get bored of it. Professor Biao says that the expectations of the Chinese youth had become very high. Therefore, now they have started feeling that if this was going to happen, then why did they not enjoy life a lot. They remained busy in making a better career. Now they have started asking what was the benefit of their sacrifice. Biao says that this mental state of the Chinese youth is a result of the fact that the youth have not been able to get bored of it.
